  2. Going to the wine expo takes on new meaning for me this year. At the start of 2012 I had not been feeling well and spent the entire year at doctors offices and undergoing medical tests finally revealing I had chronic gastric illness. As you can imagine this was very debilitating and in an effort to get me better I was told I was no long able to be a "foodie" or drink alcohol, which was a challenge because there's nothing more satisfying than a great glass of wine. After 2 surgeries and 3 months of recovery I've finally stabilized to the point I was told I would be able to have a little wine here and there and it would probably be okay. Since then I've yet to have a drink but I've been craving some dessert wine and theres no better place for long skinny bottles than the Boston Wine Expo. I've been every year since I finally came of age and got the day off work for the expo as soon as they announced it, though when I originally got it off it was so I could soberly join my mom who also loves the expo and be her designated driver. Winning tickets to the wine expo would be good for my mind, body and soul so please pick me!

  6. I would truly appreciate an opportunity to attend the Wine Expo in Boston. My wife and I have a daughter that attends college in Boston. We are both avid wine lovers, having visited Napa Valley, Finger Lakes and Connecticut wineries several times in the past. With one daughter in college, and two more in High school, our vacations and time away alone has been placed on the back burner the last few years. We have a friend that offered us the use of their apartment in Boston the weekend of February 15th as a means for my wife and I to spend Valentine's weekend away together, and also an opportunity to visit with our daughter. The Wine Expo was discussed, but the finances will not allow us to purchase tickets. If you were to select us, you can be assured the experience will not be wasted. Thanks for your consideration and God Bless.

  15. Might as well add a second possible entry and double my chances!

I'm an insatiable foodie, but one thing I lack is a more solid understanding of wines. I love wine, and would love the opportunity to get a little more insight in to the wine world by trying more and speaking with some of the people involved in the industry. No better place than the Wine Expo!

  16. My wife and I are flying up to Boston from dc for the wine expo and making a weekend of it with our wine friends who moved to Boston last year. We just spent a week in Sonoma and napa over the holiday and are now surrounded by cases of wine that keep coming every day. We are scratching our heads and wondering what we were thinking. But then our friends called yesterday to see if we were interested in the expo and of course we are. We are of course wine crazy and have no room for any more wine but you only live once and the chance to hit a whole bunch of wineries under one roof and comparison taste seems like too much to pass up! Help this pair of winos become more wine rich but not so cash poor and pick us!!!!

  23. I fell in love with wine when I studied in France - learning from the local villagers, but there's so much more than French wines. So the Boston wine expo would provide me a serious education on wines outside of this region, and grow my appreciation for great wine even more.

  24. If I won the two tickets I would give them to my mom as a gift. She loves wine and I love her so it'd be a great way to show her my appreciation. And Maybe if I'm lucky, she'll take me with her! Wahoo!

  31. To follow up, learning about wine is the best part of the process. Unfortunately, it's a costly hobby, and finances do not permit me at this time to go "all in". As I always tell my friends, when you find that truly wonderful bottle, don't ever try to replicate it. It's all about that moment in time. Using all the senses to complete the entire experience. The sounds, visual, smell, mood, people and of course, the food all play a part. And let's not forget how the bottle was handled, how long it was open, the temperature of the wine and the glasses used.

Having never attended the Boston Wine Expo, I would very much appreciate the opportunity to do so with my wonderful wife. Living in Connecticut, the cold winter months can drive us stir crazy. Having something like this to look forward to would help!! Thank you for considering us.
